Grandfather Mountain & Luna

From two weekends ago, at Grandfather Mountain. Yes. I have been that slow.

Took this in the front yard… actually put it on the tripod, used mirror lockup, etc.

These were shot with a Canon 5d Mark II, and a Sigma APO 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM, except the ladder shot. That one was the Canon 17-40mm f/4.0 L.

  1. These are really great photos, the ladder looks precarious, and the eagle is exceptional. Well done.

  2. The eagle is impressive, considering how close you had to get, but I really like the picture of the moon. I would love to know how to take pictures like this!

  3. your photography is very inspiring, I love the one of Grandfather, and the ones you took at Roan, I didn’t expect to find pictures of places near by, when I typed ‘black and white photography’ in Google search.:)
